ANESTHESIA SAFETY EVALUATION

The safety of modern anesthesia has increased substantially with increased knowledge, modern equipment, and modern anesthetic drugs.  Anesthesia is, however, never trivial or routine. To properly evaluate your pet's ability to utilize and metabolize the drugs needed, we recommend certain tests prior to anesthetizing your pet.  Even with the appearance of a clinically healthy animal, hidden problems may be present in your pet which could make anesthesia and surgery life threatening for your pet.  Therefore, we minimally recommend these procedures:

A pre-anesthetic examination is recommended for all pets.  The cost is $37.24
