Dr. Hilary Bush was born and raised in Worthington, Pennsylvania, and has lived in Gainesville since 2015. She received her Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences undergraduate degree from Penn State University in 2014. She worked as a veterinary assistant at a private practice in her hometown throughout her undergraduate studies. Then she moved to Fort Myers, Florida following graduation to pursue training in veterinary emergency medicine and critical care. Dr. Bush graduated from the University of Florida with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2019.
Her professional interests include client education, ophthalmology, neurology, and dentistry. She enjoys activities outdoors, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers (sometimes win), a good book, and above all spending time with her wonderful family – husband Derek, daughter Blake, son Bennett, two cats (Olivia and Clint), and two dogs (Bluebell and Twix).
Dr. Devon Strickland grew up in New England and California before attending Smith College for her undergraduate degree in Biology. She is a 1999 graduate of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and did her senior clinical year at Washington State University. She was an equine practitioner for 20 years in Marion, Levy and Sumter counties, before converting to small animal practice in Alachua 7 years ago. She is also a Diplomat of the American College of Theriogenology, achieved in 2006.
Derek, a Pittsburgh area native, completed his BS in Nursing at Case Western Reserve University in 2011 and graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University’s Nurse Anesthesia masters program in 2015. He doubles as an owner/administrator and handyman at Archer
Animal Hospital.
Derek enjoys the outdoors, golfing, and spending time with his children Blake and Bennett and loving wife Hilary. He is an avid Pittsburgh and Nittany Lions sports fan. Derek has eagerly embraced the challenges that veterinary clinic ownership provides.
